From an early age, I’ve always enjoyed reading stories. When serving as a Scout Leader in a Boy Scout troop, I loved to tell ghost stories around a campfire – many of the details being originated as I told them. My stories have appeared in both adult and children’s magazines. I am a graduate of North Texas University and Texas Wesleyan University (ME). After helping to write a leadership training manual for the Boy Scouts of America, I assisted in writing a syllabus for social studies in the Fort Worth Public School System. As a former educator, I have taught Language art classes in both elementary and junior high environments. The Fort Worth National Bank awarded me a fellowship to continue my studies in creative writing.

My work has appeared in several children’s magazines, including Child Life, Young World, and The Friend. I also have written church school stories for the Methodist Publishing House. For several years, I served as a chapter advisor for the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators during which time I helped organize book conferences and critique sessions within the chapter. I also wrote two show productions for a chapter in the Barbershop Harmony Society. At present, I have four books available for publication, the first of which is a western historical fiction novel, entitled KID CLAY.
