Judy Watters retired as Secondary Principal in June 2017. Prior to that, she taught high school English, Drama, Speech, and Yearbook.

Judy has published two books, The Road Home: The Legacy that was, is, and is to Come and How to Hitchhike from Texas to California in 3 Days in 14 Easy Steps. Her current work in progress, Panning for Gold in our Golden Years is scheduled for publication in Spring 2018. As founder of Ladies of Legacy and Hill Country Christian Writers, Judy helps aspiring writers to overcome deficiencies in writing and to hone their craft. She owns Franklin Scribes Publishing where she has led many authors to publication. A freelance writer, Judy has been published in The Wellsboro Gazette (twice), Story Circle Network Journal (four times), Inside and Out Anthology, Hillside Christmas Devotional Anthology, and Guidepost publications. For four years, she wrote stories and tests for the STAAR testing for public schools in the state of Texas. She has written two business manuals for two different companies. In her freelance editing, she has enjoyed working with many authors to edit their books; she also edits resource guides and tests for Texas Pentathlon and Lone Star Competitions.

Judy and her husband live in Spring Branch, Texas, and are proud parents of three grown and “fully self-sustaining” children.
