Pat Hauldren is a writer and freelance editor raised on Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury, Dick, Le Guin, etc. She wrote her first science fiction story in the fifth grade. Her teacher told her what she had written was "unsightly to God's eyes," which only encouraged to continue.

A retired electronic technician and Quality Assurance Manager in the aerospace industry, Pat is now a full-time writer and editor at EditAlley.com.

Pat writes poetry, Japanese Noh drama, short stories, and nonfiction. She's won awards for her poetry and has published several short stories. She is currently working on her third speculative fiction novel.

Pat is the co-founder of the North Texas Speculative Fiction Workshop (NTSFW), and member of the Texas Freelance Association, Artemis Society International, National Space Society of North Texas (NSSNT), National Space Society (NSS), Poetry of Johnson County, Poetry Society of Texas, the Society for the Advancement of Speculative Storytelling (SASS), Taoist Tai Chi Society, DFW Writer's Workshop, and others.

A native Texan, Pat loves all things Texas, but she also enjoys traveling and considers The Netherlands her second home. Pat volunteers with the Grand Prairie Foster Program. She enjoys Dallas Stars hockey, flat track roller derby, ceramics, tai chi, traveling, and meeting new friends.
