My name is Jackie Smith and I am the principal of a small
pre-school and private school in Austin, Texas. My educational background
includes a B.A. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Saint Edwards
University in Austin, Texas, graduate work at Texas State University in San
Marcos, Texas, a M.S. in Educational Psychology from Walden University in Minnesota,
and a doctorate in Educational Psychology from Walden University.
The last mayor of Austin presented our school with an Exemplary
School designation and me with an award for over thirty years of service to
South Austin Youth. I teach Creative
Writing as well as act as principal for our school.
When Governor Clements was
in office he named a Dance Troupe I created, sponsored, and toured
Russia as Official Texas Goodwill Ambassadors.
I have five published books currently and four more finished
and in various stages of editing, marketing, printing.
The published works are:
A memoir trilogy: “Volume I, Starting Point”, “Volume II, Moving
Forward” and “Volume III, Finish Line”.
I also have a literary fiction book entitled, “Once More With Feeling”
and a children’s book, “The Cat Who Wanted to Fly”.
I won the 2014 Eaton Literary novel competition for a novel
not released yet, “The Hourglass.”
Prior to the books I have written, I published free lance
articles on education with educational journals such as Visionary Teachers.
